Introduction
We reviewed minutes from previous meeting.  Did not formally adopt. Should we do that each time?  We discussed meeting with the Councilmembers and key city staff again in January to discuss how to get more funding allocated and what application deadlines are coming up for other sources of funding.

Lorn Whitaker suggested we not forget about Dekalb County when seeking funding.  Jeff Rader is the new commissioner.  I have strong contact with Jeff and will call him. (walter)

Lorn also asked that we be sure an confer with the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign on bike lanes ideas or modifications.  Jay has a concern about bike lanes under the bridge and we have discussed bike lanes in little five points segment from bridge to McLendon.  I hope Jay will discuss with Dennis Hoffarth.

Segment Leaders
Jim McMahel suggested we assign representatives to each of the eight segments of Moreland north of I-20.  We chose the following leaders:
A) Ponce at Moreland – Conne Ward-Cameron
B) North at Moreland – Jim McMahel
C) Mansfield to McLendon – Don Bender and Richard Shapiro
D) McLendon to Dekalb Bridge – Walter Brown and Cooper Pierce (Danny Feig and Megan Holder also)
E) Dekalb Bridge to Brantley – Jay Varner
F) Brantley to Arkwright – Garry Long
G) Arkwright/Memorial Dr. area – Jay Varner
H) I-20 interchange – NEED REPRESENTATIVE – should we enlist East Atlanta help?

Work Session Results
The team reviewed each segment in order to make sure everyone was aware and on board with the general issues/ideas/and concerns for each part.  It was decided that David Green would send each of teams (please send all to me for coordination) a scaled (100 or 50?) version of each of the segments.  Each team will then independently begin coming up with recommendations (just refinements to the general plan already adopted by the neighborhoods) to bring back to the group.  Any information that needs to be gathered in terms of physical dimension or other on-site conditions, photos, and observations will be collected by the team leader.  I would like to thinks Jay Varner could help us place this information on the web site as it is collected.  We could eventually place the CAD designs on the web as they are refined and approved by the group.

Lorn Whitaker suggested that we may be able to ask Harry Greer (DOT) to model traffic flows on Moreland as we study operational configurations (i.e. road diets)including reducing through lanes in exchange for certainty with regard to left turning movements.

Next Steps
1)    Meet with Council Reps, Heather Alhadef, and Flor Velarde in mid January to get funding updates and exchange information.
2)    Continue Design Process with David Green and continue discussing how to use information and designs we come up with.
3)    We discussed efforts to meet with Jon Yang and Mr. Santana and Harry Greer (DOT) to discuss the Fast Forward Program.  I will send notice out once meeting is set.

Next Meeting
I would propose we plan to gather as a group in mid January – just before meeting with the City to see what design ideas each group has come up with.  This will mean you need to try and meet with your team (or if single leader – yourself) and be prepared to show us your stuff in mid January. How does Tuesday, January 16th work for folks to meet again from 7-9 pm?
